I have to be honest with myself. I am not ready to write this novel just yet. I need at least two more weeks to get things organized. I am going to write for NaNo, but I may start a week or two late. So, my word count goal may have to be adjusted to make up for the late start.

I am behind with the actual prep for the novel. I am going back and finishing up some of the foundational work that I needed to do for the novel, like research and plotting.
Ugh. I sincerely hate that I have not been able to write or work on my novel. You can read all about that here in My Pandemic Writer's Story. If I can be honest, I have had to fight the urge to give up. Yet again, I want to quit. My only excuse is that I am not going to be ready for November.
But, I watched a video last night (Preptober Tips! | Do These 10 Things Before NaNowriMo) and in it, I was reminded to use NaNoWriMo for my purposes. So, I may not use it to write 50,000 words.
I need to get back into writing novels. That is a better goal for me, I think. I am still going to write, but I may use part of November to work out the kinks in my novel and the rest to write.
I keep reminding myself of my Word of the Year. I am RESILIENT!

So, on Monday and Tuesday, three of my main characters for the story Gossip, revealed to me things about their lives that I did not know. I am so frustrated with them right now.
Perhaps there is a reason they are just now revealing it to me.
For my protagonist, I have a moment of growth for her in the story/plot line. Apparently, three of my other characters wanted moments of growth in their story/plot line.
These additional details have given me another layer to my story.
I am still mad at y'all, but thanks ladies.
If one more character from Gossip tell me something I did not know... I am going to scream.
This character just told me that she is dating a guy who is a widower with a young daughter.
Why are y'all doing this to me?
Another one of my characters from Gossip just revealed new information to me. She has a man. He is in the military and stationed overseas. I am like... for real.
Why are my characters just now telling me this stuff?

So, I had a character from Gossip tell me that she has a daughter who is a freshman in college today. I am trying to figure out how I have known her for years and she is just now telling me this.

Girl, why are you just now telling me this?
Scrivener is a piece of technology that lets you write and set up writings of all kinds. I learned about it in like 2011 or 2012. It is a great piece of software. You can use it across multiple platforms and devices.
I created a project template for the software. I have finally finished with the set up. I am going to use it for Gossip. I want to test it before I offer it to anyone. It is looking good and I am excited for it.
I am about ready to start using it. I just need to organized all of those papers I have everywhere.
I posted the NaNoWriMo ad to my college classes. I have one student who mentioned they have done NaNo in the past. I still have yet to ask if they are doing it this year.
I found out that the Frisco campus library is having a NaNo event this year. It is pretty exciting to hear this. I am going to try to go to the event. I talked to the coordinator of the event and she said in the future, the library will try to do more events.
I may need to talk to my campus libraries to see what they can do.
Go NaNo!
