I am a firm believer in affirmations. They give us positive encouragement about
ourselves, our lives, and much more.
In an article entitled, “The
Importance of Affirmations” on the YMCA of Sydney Youth and Community
Services Incorporated website, it says…
“Affirmations have the power to motivate you to act on
certain things, help you to concentrate on achieving your goals in life, give
you the power to change your negative thinking patterns and replace them with
positive thinking patterns, assist you in accessing a new belief system, but
above all, affirmations can reaffirm the positivity back into your life and
help regain or increase your self-confidence.”
Writing is a lonely task.
Often, I am in a room or space by myself with only my thoughts and the
quietness to keep me going. As a writer, I must do everything I can to keep
myself motivated and encouraged. Affirmations
help with that.
I decided to use the month of July every year to give writers affirmations they can use to keep themselves encouraged and writing, especially in moments when they are doubting themselves.
As mentioned in a few posts from the past few months, I have been in a cast or sling. It has been 5 months. Five long months.
Now, I am going to get back in the swing of writing with pen
and paper, then on a computer. So, to
get started, I am going to write a writing affirmation for each day of July.
You can join me in this endeavor. I will post the affirmation each day on my
