Writer's Prayers 2022

Heavenly Father, we come before You as writers, seeking Your wisdom and understanding. We thank You for Your promise in Proverbs 18:4 that the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart are pleasing to You. Help us to guard our hearts and minds, and to write words that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. May our writing honor You and bless others, and may it bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

The Write Way to Pray: Why You Should Talk to God Before You Type (Writer's Prayers 2022)

Do you ever stare at a blank page, unsure of what to write next? Do you feel like your writing lacks inspiration or direction? Well, have no fear! The answer to your writing woes may just be a prayer away.

Yes, you read that right.

Praying before you write can be a game-changer for writers of all kinds. Here are a few reasons:

It helps you get into the zone.

Have you ever had trouble focusing on your writing? Praying can help calm your mind and focus your thoughts, making it easier to dive into your work.

It brings inspiration.

When you pray, you are opening yourself up to God’s guidance and wisdom. This can lead to fresh ideas and new perspectives that you may not have conceived on your own.

It fosters a deeper connection with God.

Writing can be a spiritual practice, but combining it with prayer can take it to the next level. By inviting God into your writing process, you are creating a deeper connection with Him and inviting Him to work through you.

But wait, there is more!

Praying before you write can also help you overcome writer’s block, boost your confidence, and remind you of the purpose behind your writing.

So next time you sit down to write, take a moment to pray first. You never know what kind of magic could happen when you invite God into your writing process.

With this in mind, I will post 13 prayers for writers during the next three months.  Be sure to visit often to get all of them.
